Pemenang

Yang Yang, Sustainability Innovation Lead, Institution of New Economic Development Co., Ltd

Yang Yang led the integration of a gender perspective into the organization’s human resources policies and other corporate procedures. He also set up a gender equality column on the company's social media channel where regular campaigns on gender equality in the workplace were conducted. As a result, 89.60% of candidates interviewed in 2022 were women, and 57% of senior management positions are held by women. The campaigns have reached around 10 million people.

Morgan Stanley Management Service (Shanghai) Limited

Morgan Stanley Management Service (Shanghai) Limited introduced an enhanced family support policy in 2022, which provides employees with 26 weeks’ maternity leave and 16 weeks’ paternity leave, and up to 4 weeks of paid family caregiver leave to provide care for a family member with serious health condition. The company supports employees in parenthood and in transitioning back to working life. They also guide managers how to best support employees during this period of time, which has helped male and female employees balance work and family responsibilities.

KPMG China

KPMG China supports young women’s participation and leadership in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) through the offering of training sessions and internships. In 2021, the programme reached 1,672 female students majoring in STEM, and more than 97% of participants said that their skills have been improved and that they have gained a deeper understanding of the skills requirements of STEM positions. Around 98% of participants reported that they had gained the skills required for daily work scenarios. In 2022, nearly 1,800 female STEM students signed up for the program.

PwC China

PwC China has formulated medium and long-term goals and corresponding work plans to promote gender equality, which are integrated into the CEO's annual performance review. To monitor and publicly report progress, PwC China discloses sex-disaggregated data, including gender ratio at all levels, promotion rate of male and female employees, and training hours of male and female employees, in its quarterly gender report and annual environmental, social and corporate governance report. In 2022, female ratio of total partner admission has reached 45%, proportionality of below-director promotions 90%, and 40% of female experienced hires were women.

Ladies Who Tech

Ladies Who Tech, together with its partners, launched a 3-year women’s digital empowerment project starting from 2021. The project conducted a study and released a report on the current situation of women’s career development in the science and technology sector in China, and has been carrying out training on digital skills for 1,000,000 women, and has engaged around 100 advocated business leaders to advocate the implementation of gender-inclusive practices in the workplace.

Sumec Textile & Light Industry Co., Ltd.

Sumec Textile & Light Industry Co., Ltd. provides childcare support including after-school classes by working with local governments and schools. They developed diverse curriculums for children at different ages and continuously improve the security of childcare facilities. This has benefited more than 200 children of male and female employees, which has helped reduce the care burden of employees.

Volvo Cars China

Volvo Cars China provides 24 weeks’ paid parental leave for all employees, which can be taken any time within the first three years of becoming a parent. Having multiple children entitles the employee to supplementary compensation. Any and all form of discrimination against employees on parental leave, or employees returning from parental leave is strictly prohibited. In order to encourage employees, especially male employees, to apply for parental leave, the company has made it an individual benefit applying to all eligible employees that is not transferable to their spouses, and explicitly states that the company encourages men and women to share caregiving responsibilities.

Hop Lun (Hongkong) Ltd.

Hop Lun (Hongkong) Ltd. has established a mechanism to respond to gender-based violence, including sexual harassment in the workplace and domestic violence. They have anonymous complaint channels and tracking procedures in place, and regularly conduct anti-harassment training for management (team leaders and above) and communicate with employees on anti-harassment policies. On top of a robust anti-harassment mechanism, the company has increased its attention to domestic violence since the COVID-19 pandemic. For employees who have experienced domestic violence, the company would give suggestions on steps to follow and refers them to local women's federation, police, counseling service, or medical institutions, as relevant. This has helped to create a safe workplace.
